We welcome you to our hundred-year-old, lovingly renovated home in Airolo, at the heart of the Swiss Alps. The stone walls and modern ambience come together in a timeless and charming combination, enchanting those who visit. Our hotel is named after Tremola, the legendary cobbled road of the Gotthard Pass. The eight non-smoking double rooms, equipped with bathroom, TV, radio and wifi, take their names from its hairpin bends (Òut du Fòrt, Òut d’Santirana, Òut d’Pradàsc...), and are furnished with images of the epic bike races. Tremola San Gottardo has seen champions such as Kubler, Koblet, and Bartali race past: a history that will never be forgotten. Today, that translates into a do-it-yourself workshop with small parts, an ebike charging station, a bike room, a laundry service for sportswear and a space for washing bikes.
We offer our guests a varied breakfast based on high quality, home-made, regional products, reflecting the character of the region. The perfect base for discovery!

Restaurant
Discovering the region through its flavours – this is the art of patron and chef Luca Brughelli. His heartfelt cuisine is inspired by the cadence of the seasons, with a particular attention for local produce and a keen focus on rediscovering ancient traditions and flavours and re-evaluating rural ingredients.
There is no shortage of good wine to accompany the dishes, with many regional and organic options, some prestigious classics, and collectible labels. Tania Brughelli, who has been working alongside her husband Luca since 2008, is on hand to suggest the perfect pairing and make your culinary experience even more unforgettable.

Opening hours for Il Tremola San Gottardo are from 07:00–24:00. The kitchen is open for lunch from 12:00–14:00 and in the evening from 18:30–21:00.

Airolo sits at the foot of the San Gottardo Pass. Stepping out of Bed&bike, the allure of one of the world’s most spectacular roads, the Tremola, is impossible to resist. But there is not only the historic cobbled street: Airolo is situated in the heart of the Gottardo massif, in easy reach of several spectacular Alpine passes.
The mountains, peaks and woods on our doorstep encourage you to immersing yourself in unspoiled nature, to follow a trail to an alpine lake, or embark on a hiking expedition, perhaps along the Via Idra trail.
Airolo is a destination for all seasons. Doris De Agostini, Michela Figini and Lara Gut were raised on its ski slopes, and the nearby Val Bedretto is a paradise for ski mountaineering. For those who want to experience some Alpine glamour or explore a larger ski resort, the popular town of Andermatt is just 30 minutes by train or car from Airolo.
